Shiting Green Tea

Shiting Green Tea is produced in the area around Lianhua Peak of Jiuri Mountain in Fengzhou Town, Nan'an City, Fujian Province. Jiuri Mountain is known as "the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road". Shiting Green Tea is exported to countries and regions such as Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, and the Philippines by sea vessels. Shiting Tea is also one of the earliest types of tea sold to overseas Chinese.

Nan'an City is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, where the custom of drinking tea is very popular. Many overseas Chinese still drink the tea from their hometown after they went to Nanyang. Thus, Shiting Green Tea has become a bridge connecting overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia with their hometown. During the Bandung Conference, Premier Zhou Enlai specially entertained journalists from various countries with Shiting Green Tea.

Shiting Green Tea has a long history. It belongs to stir-fried green tea and has the characteristics of "three greens" and "three aromas". According to the record in The Great Dictionary of Chinese Tea, "The tea leaves are grayish-silver with a green tint, the tea soup is clear and green, and the tea leaves at the bottom are bright and tender green, which is called 'three greens'. The different aromas of orchid, mung bean, and almond are called 'three aromas'."
